Course: Alkaline Diet and Skin
Alkaline Diet and Skin
Ardalan Minokadeh, MD PhD +1

Interest in the role of modified diets with the incorporation of natural ingredients in skin health has increased in recent years. Specific attention to the benefits of an alkaline diet and alkaline water has increased given reports on its health benefit in the lay media. Despite this rise in interest, there is a lack of scientific evaluation. Much of what is known about the role of diet and skin health is based on findings from nutritional deficiencies. This course examines the role of an alkaline diet in overall body and skin health based on available evidence from the peer-reviewed scientific literature.
