Course: Diet and Wrinkles
Diet and Wrinkles
Aunna Pourang, MD +1

It is well known that skin health can be affected by the food one eats. This is demonstrated in a wide range of ailments, from the involvement of gluten in dermatitis herpetiformis to spicy foods exacerbating rosacea. Further, nutrient deficiencies such as iron deficiency can cause hair loss and brittle nails, while one’s facial complexion may even be impacted by food. In this course, we discuss how diet affects beauty, explore the association between ingestion of almonds and rhytides and look at the evidence-based data showing what foods improve the appearance of rhytides.
