Eczema is a chronic relapsing-remitting inflammatory skin condition. Treatment goals focus on decreasing the severity and frequency of disease flares and thus improving quality of life. Successful eczema education surrounds empowering patients and caregivers to become proactive, rather than reactive with their eczema care.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Review how to connect with patients and caregivers afflicted with eczema
  • Recognize short-term and long-term treatment goals with patients and their caregivers
  • Identify early flares, triggers, and skin infections and evaluate treatment adherence through correct implementation of the eczema action plan
