Summary

Yoga is an ancient mind-body practice that involves physical postures (asana), controlled breathing exercises (pranayama), and meditation. Increasing evidence supports the use of yoga and mind-body interventions as a way to reduce stress and diseases associated with premature cellular aging. This course will review the most common types of yoga and pranayama practices and discuss the ways these practices activate the neuroendocrine system and gene transcription which may positively impact skin aging.
