Dr. Michelle B. Tarbox is an assistant professor of Dermatology and Dermatopathology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, where she serves on the Educational Policy Committee and the Faculty Research Committee. She volunteers regularly at the Impact Health Free Clinic to care for those without medical insurance and works with the Women’s Dermatological Society to offer free cancer screenings. Dr. Tarbox is an active clinical researcher and currently has grants in place to study acne scarring treatments and cosmetic dermatology. The annual Integrative Dermatology Symposium is designed to appeal to practitioners across disciplines. It will address emerging trends, and practical approaches to dermatology as practitioners assess and manage skin conditions and care. It is estimated that nearly one-third of the population is afflicted with a skin disorder. There is a great need for best practice sharing and cross-collaboration to support practitioners in the field and improve patient care outcomes.
