Pooja Shah, MD, FAAD

Dr. Pooja R. Shah is a distinguished, board-certified dermatologist and Associate Professor at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. As Director of Dermatology at the Katz Institute for Women's Health and Director of Women's Skin Health & Wellness at Northwell Health in New York, she leads innovative holistic care in women's dermatology. She also drives key initiatives as Specialty Educator for EPIC Systems and Wellness Champion for a major health system, blending clinical excellence with leadership in physician well-being.

A class salutatorian from Macaulay Honors College at CUNY Hunter (BA in Psychology with Behavioral Neuroscience focus), Dr. Shah earned her MD with distinction in Community Service and Global Health from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Dr. Shah's expertise spans medical dermatology, procedural and surgical dermatology, women's skin health, and skin of color. She is an active member of national professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, AAD Women's Health Expert Resource Group, and Vulvar Dermatoses Research Consortium. She publishes extensively in peer-reviewed literature, serves as reviewer for top journals, and frequently speaks at national conferences.

Dr. Shah is dedicated to expanding access to high-quality dermatologic care, advancing patient education, and supporting underserved communities through ongoing outreach. She is passionate about mentoring the next generation of physicians and remains a committed advocate for physician wellness and medical education at every level.
