This activity is part of a 16-course series designed to equip licensed practitioners from medical, nursing, and related disciplines with a multidisciplinary approach to managing patients with atopic dermatitis (AD), also known as eczema.

10. Systemic Therapies for Eczema: The New Horizon Is Here

Biologics have swept the field of medicine over the last decade and now a first in class biologic is approved for eczema. These powerful agents can be life-changing for patients with eczema but are not for everyone. This class will review the current classes of systemic therapies for eczema and explore how new therapies can be integrated safely into the treatment regimen.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize systemic agents available for eczema treatments
  • Contrast interleukin 4 and 13 biology and inhibition for eczema treatment
  • Apply systemic and topical treatments into a coherent patient regimen
