Update on Pathophysiology
This course will review the structure of nails and nail growth as well as review common nail abnormalities.
After completing this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe nail growth
- Identify trauma induced nail abnormalities
- Summarize the role inflammation plays in nail disorders
Therapeutics Update
This lecture will review the therapies that are typically used in the treatment of nail infection and nail inflammation particularly onychomycosis.
After completing this activity, participants will be able to:
- Review the treatment for inflammatory nail disease
- Review the treatment for infectious nail disease
Supplements and Herbs
This course will cover supplements marketed for nails, specific nutritional deficiencies that can affect nails, as well as supplements and botanicals that can be important for nail health.
After completing this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify safe supplements for nail health
- Describe nail findings that can be seen with specific nutritional deficiencies
- List essential oils that may help treat onychomycosis
