A variety of clinical guidelines have recently been developed for the treatment of Hidradenitis Suppurativa. These guidelines appreciate the complexity of disease as well as a number of gaps in our knowledge regarding disease pathogenesis, disease heterogeneity, and predicting response to therapy.
Our knowledge regarding disease mechanisms and pathogenesis has increased dramatically over the past few years both with regards to clinical associations, disease triggers, genetics, and molecular pathophysiology of disease. These publications question our established treatment approaches and identify multiple novel targets for new therapies.
This course reviews both the existing therapeutic guidelines for HS along with emerging HS therapies, and also discusses how these novel therapies and new knowledge (such as genetics, treatment biomarkers, and new treatments) will shape our management of HS over the next 5 years.
