What You'll Learn

In addition to existing research suggesting even modest amounts of soy foods favorably affect several skin parameters, a newly conducted randomized controlled trial greatly adds to the evidence that soy foods benefit the skin. Hear from the principal investigator of this research, Raja Sivamani, MD, MS, AP, about the findings which demonstrate the positive impact soy protein and soybean isoflavones can have on wrinkle depth, hydration, and pigmentation.

The impact of soy foods and soybean components such as isoflavones on skin health is just one of the many areas that have been rigorously researched over the past 30 years. In fact, more than 40,000 soy-related peer-reviewed medical and scientific articles on soy have been published during this time. But soy is not without controversy, as questions have arisen such as "does soy affect hormones?" and "will soy increase risk of breast cancer?" and "does soy cause allergic reactions?" Mark Messina, PhD, MS, an internationally recognized soy expert, will present the science on these topics and more.

This session is provided by SNI Global, with support from U.S. Soy.
