7. Light-based Therapies for Psoriasis

Light can work as an immune suppressor and therefore makes sense as a therapy option for psoriasis. Different light based therapies are available and the choice can be confusing.

Educational Objectives:

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the different light based therapies available for treatment of psoriasis
  • Describe the mechanism of action of the different light based therapies available for treatment of psoriasis
  • Analyze the dosing and adverse effect as well as other challenges of initiating and maintaining light based therapies for treatment of psoriasis
