Dr. Jessica May Franklin is a current dermatology resident physician at San Antonio Uniformed Health Services Health Education Consortium. She is a native from Spain who graduated from Virginia Tech, Air Force ROTC and the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets earning her commission as an officer in the United States Air Force in 2016. In 2020 she received her medical degree under the Health Professions Scholarship Program, graduating with honors, from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. After graduating top of her class during her Transitional Year Internship at Brooke Army Medical Center, she was competitively selected to complete Aerospace Medicine training with a 2 year follow on assignment as an operational Flight Surgeon in Germany prior to starting residency in 2023. From working in humanitarian missions to volunteering at local free dermatology clinics, Dr May Franklin has grown a greater appreciation caring for the human as a "whole" and understands there is a growing need (especially for unique patient populations) to understand and be able to educate patients on all their treatment options when it comes to helping them meet their health goals, as each person has a unique set of ideals/culture/socioeconomic status that may limit their access or desire to pursue conventional treatments.
