Dr. Vidya Medepalli is currently an ASDS cosmetic dermatologic surgery/laser fellow with the Skin Laser and Surgery Specialists (Division of Schweiger Dermatology) program in Hackensack, NJ. She is a Georgia native who graduated from the BS/MD professional scholars program and honors program at Augusta University with a bachelor's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. She received her medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. She completed dermatology residency at the University of Central Florida program in Tallahassee, FL. As a medical student she was an executive member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, an organization devoted to holistic patient care. She has directed a number of fundraising events to raise funds and awareness for the American Heart Association and has spent time volunteering in rural mobile health clinics internationally. Dr. Medepalli believes that humanism means treating the patient holistically, not just the physical symptoms that brought the patient to the hospital. Without humanism there is no medicine, and without empathy and care the treatment is not complete. When she is not working, you can find Dr. Medepalli traveling, doing Zumba, playing pickleball, tennis, or the piano.
