The Integrative Dermatology Symposium focuses on new and emerging therapies, innovations, and best practices across disciplines in dermatology to improve dermatological patient care from an interdisciplinary approach.

The oils derived from plants have been used for thousands of years among various forms of medicine and for skin based therapies. This session will dive into the science of plant based oils and the research behind their use in various skin issues and conditions.

This session will review the importance of shared decision making and how to most effectively involve the patient in diagnosis and treatment related discussions. The role of understanding the patient’s treatment and cultural perspectives will be explored along with how to incorporate discussions around pharmaceutical and nutrition based approaches.

It is estimated that nearly one-third of the population is afflicted with a skin disorder. There is a great need for best practice sharing and cross-collaboration to support practitioners in the field and improve patient outcomes.
