This DCIE roundtable session will focus on case presentations featuring patients that have atopic dermatitis and review the new AAD guidelines for the management of atopic dermatitis.

This session will include expert dermatologists who will consolidate the information from the previous modules to evaluate and discuss multiple cases of atopic dermatitis and their approaches to diagnosis and therapy.


This session will review the clinical presentation of AD and when to consider the use of systemic agents. The epidemiological associations as well as the associated physical and psychological co-morbidities of AD will be reviewed. The clinical evidence for topical and systemic JAK inhibition will also be discussed.

Multiple randomized, placebo-controlled and real-world studies have shown biologics to have high levels of efficacy, tolerability and safety for atopic dermatitis since approval. Yet, there are still patients who either don’t respond or lose response over time. Herein, we provide a framework on how to approach these patients including how to optimize add-on therapy to dupilumab and when to consider switching to an alternative therapy.

This course reviews the impact, epidemiology, causes, and management of sleep disturbances in patients with atopic dermatitis. Management pearls will be discussed, including lifestyle and behavioral modifications along with systemic therapies.

Head and neck involvement is common in patients with atopic dermatitis and poses a diagnostic and management challenge due to a myriad of factors. This course highlights the risk factors, epidemiology, clinical presentation and differential diagnosis of head and neck atopic dermatitis. Management pearls will be reviewed, including lifestyle modification, skin barrier repair, topical medication strategies, and systemic therapies.
