This course will cover the basic premises of medical ethics as well as ethical issues that commonly arise in the practice of integrative dermatology with a focus on strategies for evaluating risk/benefit of treatment options. 

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify ethical issues related to the practice of Integrative Dermatology
  • Describe the SORT method for evaluating integrative treatment options regarding safety and efficacy

The Business of Integrative Medicine

An introduction to some of the important aspects of integrative dermatology that differ from conventional medicine with emphasis on ethics.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe some of the key issues involved with integrative medicine business and ethics
  • Identify some key ethical issues around the business of integrative medicine

Building an Integrative Network

This lecture will cover strategies that can help you build a better integrative network around you.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Create a plan for developing more partnerships with other integrative practitioners
  • Distinguish the importance of an online presence in building an integrative network

Skin Care Products: A Legal Overview 

This session will provide an overview of legal issues relevant to the manufacture, sale, and medical practice use of cosmetic and dietary supplement products.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Review the different laws and regulations related to cosmetic and dietary supplement product production
  • Understand what encompasses good manufacturing practices
  • Learn about the different advertising and marketing laws
