Description

Atopic dermatitis presents unique challenges that may be best approached from an integrative medicine perspective. Particularly important groups for considering an integrative approach include very young patients for whom many/most medications are not FDA-approved and may be unsafe, those who have specific concerns about existing medications, and those with a prominent stress-induced component.

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of clinicians and non-clinicians involved in the care of patients with atopic dermatitis.

Educational Objectives

  • Appraise the data to support current treatment approaches available for AD, including non-prescription treatments, daily habits, topical, and systemic therapies
  • Formulate a management plan for patients with moderate to severe AD
  • Compose a strategy for co-management of AD with the patient’s support network

Method of Participation

There are no fees for participating in and receiving credit for this activity. During the period February 26, 2020, through November 27, 2022, participants must 1) read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures, 2) study the educational activity, 3) complete the post-test by recording the best answer to each quiz question, and 4) complete the evaluation form.

A statement of credit will be issued only upon receipt of a completed activity evaluation form and a completed post-test with a score of 70% or better. Statements of credit will be available once the evaluation form is completed.
