Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of clinicians and non-clinicians involved in the care of patients.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of SynAptiv and LearnHealth. Method Participation

Participants must 1) read the program information, 2) study the educational activity, 3) complete the posttest by recording the best answer to each quiz question, and 4) complete the evaluation form.

A statement of credit will be issued only upon receipt of a completed activity evaluation form and a completed post-test with a score of 70% or better. Statements of credit will be available once the midterm and final exams are completed and evaluation forms submitted.

Welcome to week 24 looking at integrative approaches to hair health!

Diet and Hair Health: A Very Tangled Web

What is the role of diet in healthy hair as well as hair disease? We explore some of the common conjectures and review the relevant data to outline some practical findings.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the relationship between diet and general hair health
  2. Outline some potential diagnostic considerations for certain hair loss conditions
  3. Identify some of the potential therapies based on this understanding

Hair Health: The Ayurvedic Approach

This session will review hair health from an Ayurvedic perspective and explore how imbalances are described and addressed.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the Ayurvedic imbalances associated with hair health
  2. Discuss the treatment approaches to address imbalances associated with hair loss

Hair Health: Practical Integration

This session will cover how to practically integrate multiple perspectives when addressing patients with hair health and hair loss-related concerns. Three cases will be illustrated as examples.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Summarize hair health into its component pathophysiological subunits
  2. Diagram an integrative approach to treating hair based conditions on a case based approach
