Welcome to module 30 focused on business basics for integrative dermatologists!
Coding
This course will introduce learners to the ICD-10 and CPT codes (USA) necessary for documentation and reimbursement of office visits and procedures performed. This course will review the different levels of office visits and the criteria required during the exam to reach each code level, along with the use of modifiers, and commonly coded for diagnoses and procedure codes.
After completing this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recall the new 2021 guidelines to accurately code outpatient visits
- Apply coding principles to clinical examples
- Review the use of the add-on code (G2211)
Protecting the Dermatologist: Liability Insurance
This session will focus on insurance for developing a skin care line, selling products in office, and conducting research.
After completing this activity, participants will be able to:
- Review what liability insurance is and the importance of having it
- Recall the different types of liability insurance including general, products, medical professional, research, and cyber liability
- Identify the liability involved with consulting to a group vs one-on-one with patients
