Course: Supplements for the GI System
Supplements for the GI System
Marvin Singh, MD

The purpose of this course is to give an overview of certain herbs and supplements that might be helpful in the management of those with gastrointestinal symptoms and conditions. It is important to understand and appreciate that there may be well tolerated natural therapies that may offer just as much (or better) benefit to the patient with gastrointestinal issues, while avoiding some of the potential side effects associated with pharmaceuticals. Further, it is important to note that many of the natural therapies have more than one beneficial impact on health, making them beneficial on a number of different levels. In this course, we will review some of the most widely used supplements and therapies in the setting of gastrointestinal disease.
