Welcome to week 19 as we synthesize an integrative approach to rosacea!

Target Audience

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of clinicians and non-clinicians involved in the care of patients.

Method Participation

Participants must 1) read the program information, 2) study the educational activity, 3) complete the posttest by recording the best answer to each quiz question, and 4) complete the evaluation form.

A statement of credit will be issued only upon receipt of a completed activity evaluation form and a completed post-test with a score of 70% or better. Statements of credit will be available once the midterm and final exams are completed and evaluation forms submitted.

The Microbiome in Rosacea

The microbiome, both skin and gut, may play a bigger role than previously suspected in rosacea. We review the literature and discuss the clinical implications of the findings.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the relationship between the gut microbiome and rosacea
  2. Outline some potential diagnostic considerations
  3. Identify some of the potential therapeutic implications of this connection

Ayurvedic Approach to Rosacea

This lecture will review the Ayurvedic approach to rosacea and the common approaches to treatment. The Ayurvedic approach will be correlated with evidence from clinical studies.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the Ayurvedic imbalances associated with rosacea
  2. Discuss the treatment approaches to counter the typical imbalances in rosacea

Practical Integration with Pharmaceuticals for Rosacea

This session will review integrative approaches that can augment standard pharmaceutical treatments of rosacea.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Review classes of pharmaceuticals and how to build an integrative approach for treating rosacea
  2. Integrative toolkit review for rosacea
