Seborrheic Dermatitis: Pathophysiology, Differential Diagnosis, and Therapy

This course will review the pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, course, prognosis and treatment of seborrheic dermatitis.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the presentation and differential diagnosis of seborrheic dermatitis
  • Review the pathophysiology of seborrheic dermatitis
  • Discuss both traditional and integrative treatment options for seborrheic dermatitis

Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Part 1: Pathophysiology and Differential Diagnosis

Understand and describe the pathophysiology and differential diagnoses of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and describe the pathophysiology of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis
  • Recognize the clinical variants of psoriasis and known psoriasis-associated comorbidities
  • Review differential diagnoses, clinical presentation, autoimmune etiology, and prognosis of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis
  • Identify the new psoriasis severity classification criteria proposed by the International Psoriasis Council

Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Part 2: Therapies (Topical and Systemic)

This course will explore the topical, systemic, and biologic therapies for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Review topical and systemic therapies in treating psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis including topical conventional medications, systemic, and biologic therapies
  • Identify the unique mechanism of action of specific systemic medications
  • Assess the general appropriateness of choosing a therapy for a psoriasis patient based on a variety of criteria, including mode of administration, treatment frequency, disease variant, comorbidities, and AEs

Lichen Planus

This course reviews the skin disorder Lichen Planus, its etiology, clinical presentation, course, prognosis and both integrative and traditional treatment options.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Review the clinical presentation of lichen planus
  • Summarize the etiology, course, and prognosis of lichen planus
  • Review both integrative and traditional therapeutic options in treating lichen planus

Other Papulosquamous: Contact Dermatitis, Lichen Sclerosus, PLEVA, PLC, Grover's

This course discusses other papulosquamous diseases such as PLC, PLEVA, Grover's disease, contact dermatitis, and lichen sclerosus.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Review the clinical presentation of PLC, PLEVA, Grover’s, contact dermatitis, and lichen sclerosus
  • Summarize the etiology, course, and prognosis of PLC and Grover’s
  • Review both integrative and traditional therapeutic options in treating PLC, PLEVA, Grover’s, contact dermatitis, and lichen sclerosus

Integrative Approach to Nutrition and Supplements for Psoriasis and Lichen Planus

This course takes an integrative approach to psoriasis and lichen planus therapy addressing nutrition and the role supplements play in psoriasis and lichen planus.

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Review the importance of diet in psoriasis and lichen planus
  • Discuss dietary restrictions and additions that can improve psoriasis and lichen planus
  • Review the role supplements can play in improving psoriasis and lichen planus
