Topical Therapies for Vitiligo
Non-Steroidal Topical Therapy and JAK Inhibitors in the Clinical Management of Vitiligo
Erik Domingues, MD FAAD
Supported by an independent educational grant from Incyte

This course focuses on the role of non-steroidal topical therapies in the treatment of vitiligo, with an emphasis on JAK inhibitors as a novel and targeted option for nonsegmental vitiligo. Learners will explore the immunologic mechanisms of action behind JAK inhibitors, assess efficacy and safety outcomes from pivotal clinical trials, and examine how these therapies compare to traditional steroid-based treatments. The course will also cover practical strategies for integrating JAK inhibitors into individualized treatment plans, including long-term disease control and patient monitoring considerations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the mechanism of action of JAK inhibitors and their use as non-steroidal topical therapies in vitiligo.
  • Evaluate clinical trial data on the efficacy, safety, and long-term outcomes of topical JAK inhibitor therapy.
  • Apply evidence-based strategies for initiating, monitoring, and maintaining JAK inhibitor treatment as part of a comprehensive, non-steroidal management approach to vitiligo.
