Acne in female patients can be challenging starting at the young ages of children and continuing into middle age (even beyond, at times). This lecture will discuss the common condition of polycystic ovarian syndrome and how it relates to our treatment of acne. Laboratory evaluations and therapeutic options will be reviewed. Practical points for in office exams and treatment options of female patients will be emphasized.
