Comprehensive aesthetic outcomes begin with a structured, full-face assessment and strategic treatment planning. This session explores how to evaluate facial anatomy, aging patterns, and patient goals to develop personalized plans that integrate injectables, energy-based devices, and skin quality therapies. Attendees will learn how to translate consultation insights into cohesive, multimodal treatment strategies that improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Periocular Rejuvenation with Lasers and Injectables - (Julie Woodward, MD)

This activity is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of periocular anatomy and its clinical relevance in aesthetic and surgical practice. Attendees will review foundational and advanced concepts in laser incisional surgery and laser skin resurfacing, with an emphasis on safe and effective application. The course will also focus on the prevention, recognition, and management of complications associated with both laser procedures and injectable treatments, providing practical strategies to improve patient safety and clinical outcomes.

OPTIMIZING OUTCOMES: Impact of Peri-Procedural Interventions on Laser Outcomes - (Lesley Clark Loeser, MD FAAD)

This session will review evidence-based peri-procedural strategies designed to reduce complications, accelerate recovery, and improve clinical outcomes across laser and energy-based treatments. Attendees will gain practical guidance on integrating topical therapies, systemic support, and adjunctive recovery modalities to enhance treatment safety, optimize healing, and improve the longevity and consistency of aesthetic results.

Learning Objectives:

Identify biologic factors (inflammation, barrier integrity, pigment reactivity, and wound-healing dynamics) that influence laser outcomes independently of device selection or energy settings.
Apply evidence-based pre-, peri-, and post-procedural interventions to mitigate adverse events and optimize healing following laser and energy-based treatments.

Injection Safety: Early Recognition and Management of Vascular Compromise - (Lindsay Bright, NP)

Vascular compromise is a rare but potentially devastating complication of aesthetic injectable treatments that can result in tissue necrosis, scarring, and in rare cases, vision loss if not recognized and managed promptly. Early identification and intervention are critical to minimizing adverse outcomes and improving patient safety. This session will review the vascular anatomy most relevant to aesthetic injectors, highlight early clinical signs of vascular compromise, and discuss high risk injection sites and techniques. Attendees will gain practical, evidence-based strategies for assessment, intervention, and emergency preparedness in the aesthetic setting.

Learning Objectives:

Identify the early clinical signs and symptoms of vascular compromise following aesthetic injectable procedures.
Evaluate anatomical risk factors, vascular anatomy, and injection techniques associated with an increased risk of vascular occlusion.
Apply evidence-based assessment and management strategies for the timely recognition and treatment of vascular compromise to minimize tissue injury and improve patient outcomes.
Develop protocols for clinical preparedness, emergency response, and patient education related to vascular complications in aesthetic practice.

Nontraditional Uses of Neurotoxin - (Lilly Rose Paraskevas, MD FAAD)

Botulinum toxin is widely used for dynamic wrinkle reduction, but its clinical applications extend beyond traditional cosmetic treatment. This session examines emerging and nontraditional uses of neurotoxin, including intradermal microdosing for skin quality, pore size, sebum production, melasma, rosacea, scarring, and lower-face contouring. The presentation will also address applications involving the parotid gland and individualized treatment strategies for performers who need to preserve facial movement, expression, and function. Practical injection techniques, patient selection, safety considerations, and limitations of the current evidence will be reviewed.

Learning Objectives

Describe the mechanism of action of botulinum toxin and differentiate intradermal microdosing from traditional intramuscular treatment.
Identify appropriate clinical indications and patient-selection considerations for nontraditional neurotoxin applications.
Compare dosing, dilution, injection depth, and technique considerations for intradermal and conventional neurotoxin treatments.
Assess the current evidence, safety considerations, and limitations associated with off-label and emerging neurotoxin applications.

Accreditation Information

This set of three lectures explores integrative strategies that may support aesthetic outcomes before, during, and after cosmetic procedures. Topics include peri-procedural skin preparation and recovery, stress and sleep as contributors to visible skin aging, and the integration of naturopathic medicine into aesthetic dermatology.

Participants will examine evidence-informed approaches including barrier-supportive skincare, supplementation, adjunctive light-based therapies, nutrition, sleep optimization, stress reduction, lifestyle modification, hormonal considerations, and naturopathic approaches to skin aging. The lectures also address biologic pathways related to inflammation, oxidative stress, glycation, barrier function, collagen production, and skin resilience, with practical applications for aesthetic consultation, treatment planning, recovery, and patient satisfaction.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is intended for healthcare professionals involved in aesthetic dermatology and medical aesthetics, including physicians, physician associates/assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, naturopathic doctors, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals interested in incorporating evidence-informed integrative approaches into aesthetic care.

GOAL & PURPOSE

This educational activity is designed to help clinicians incorporate evidence-informed integrative strategies into aesthetic dermatology and peri-procedural care.

The program examines how skin preparation, barrier support, nutrition, supplementation, sleep, stress, lifestyle factors, and hormonal considerations may influence skin resilience, healing, visible aging, recovery, and patient satisfaction. It also introduces naturopathic approaches related to glycation, nutrition, botanical supplementation, and sleep as they relate to skin aging and aesthetic goals.

Through these sessions, participants will gain practical strategies to strengthen aesthetic consultations, identify factors that may affect treatment response and recovery, and incorporate individualized supportive measures into cosmetic treatment planning.
