Innovations in Topical Cosmetics to Address Weight Loss Related Facial Changes and the Pace of Aging

With the widespread use of weight loss medications, there is a growing need to address the facial changes that result from rapid weight loss. This presentation highlights a new topical treatment targeting weight loss-induced skin aging, covering both ingredient science and supporting clinical data. Additionally, it will reveal a novel study investigating the impact on epigenetic biological skin aging with the combination of a daily antioxidant serum and moisturizing sunscreen, Power-C serum and Daily Prevention Advanced Smartblend Mineral Moisturizer SPF 75. The evidence illustrates the potential of targeted antioxidant and UV-protective strategies to not only reduce visible aging but also influence the skin’s aging process at a cellular level.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the facial and skin changes associated with rapid weight loss and their impact on skin aging.
  • Review the ingredient science, clinical data, and mechanisms of action supporting a new topical treatment for weight loss-induced skin aging.
  • Discuss evidence from a novel study evaluating the impact of combined antioxidant and UV-protective strategies on epigenetic biological skin aging.

The Gut–Skin Connection in Clinical Practice: Using GI-MAP® to Uncover Root Causes and Guide Targeted Interventions

Emerging research continues to reveal the complex, bidirectional relationship between gastrointestinal function and dermatologic health. This interactive, case-based pre-conference workshop will introduce clinicians to the GI-MAP® stool test and demonstrate its clinical utility in managing a range of skin conditions, with a focus on acne and eczema. Participants will learn to interpret key findings within the framework of the gut–skin axis and apply evidence-based interventions. Attendees will leave with a structured, practical approach for integrating stool testing into dermatology-focused patient care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the physiological mechanisms linking gastrointestinal function and skin health, including intestinal permeability, microbial dysbiosis, and immune modulation.
  • Associate “leaky gut” and “leaky skin” pathophysiology and describe their clinical implications in dermatology.
  • Evaluate the role of hypochlorhydria in promoting overgrowth patterns and its impact on skin inflammation.
  • Identify key microbes on the GI-MAP stool test that correlate with dermatologic conditions including H. pylori, S. aureus, and Candida and their impacts on acne eczema, and fungal-related skin symptoms.
  • Apply evidence-informed, targeted interventions based on stool testing results to support both gut and skin health in clinical practice.
