What You'll Learn

The annual Integrative Dermatology Symposium is designed to appeal to practitioners across disciplines. It will address emerging trends, and practical approaches to dermatology as practitioners assess and manage skin conditions and care. It is estimated that nearly one-third of the population is afflicted with a skin disorder. There is a great need for best practice sharing and cross-collaboration to support practitioners in the field and improve patient care outcomes.

  1. Evaluate the evidence for food based interventions for inflammatory skin diseases
  2. Identify the evidence for emerging pharmaceutical therapies for common pediatric and adult skin conditions
  3. Describe the impact of nutrition on gut and skin health
  4. Incorporate the use of biologics and JAK inhibitors into an integrative treatment plan for inflammatory skin conditions
  5. Examine the clinical evidence for the use of probiotics in skin health
  6. Diagram the role of the gut and skin microbiome in inflammation and the skin barrier
  7. Discuss the clinical evidence for the use of non-steroidal topicals to control skin inflammation
  8. Compare treatment approaches based on skin type and color
