    I graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2018 with a BS in Biological Sciences. I am currently working on my thesis project with Dr.Sivamani at Integrative Skin Science and Research (ISSR) in Sacramento, CA as a master's student in the Masters of Medical Sciences Program at Boston University.   I am beyond excited to be working with LearnSkin to gain a better understanding of how the integration of Eastern and Western medicine improves patient care and outcomes through a more holistic approach to medicine. My interests include academic research, integrative dermatology and integrative medicine.

    Dr. Ashley Dumont, ND is a Naturopathic Doctor and a graduate from the National University of Natural Medicine.With a deep-rooted passion for dermatology, she believes in taking an evidence-based, holistic and individualized approach to skin health by addressing the foundational aspects of health as well as incorporating botanical medicine, nutraceuticals, mind-body medicine, and IV therapy. Dr. Dumont understands and values the importance of physical, spiritual, and emotional health and its direct connection to achieving healthy skin and overall wellness. Her goal is to empower her patients to take an active role in their personal and unique path to healing.

    Maria Mas
    Maria is a naturopathic doctor who attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She has a strong interest in integrative dermatology, mental health, environmental medicine, and epigenetics. Maria’s passion is to help make integrative medicine more accessible, especially in the state of Florida where naturopathic medicine is currently not regulated. She is an active member of the FNPA and has participated in naturopathic advocacy and lobbying events such as the DCFLI. In the future, she aims to help others reach their own health goals by providing individualized treatment plans that address the multiple root causes of illness. She also loves animals and would like to help make integrative veterinary care more accessible as well.

    Jennifer Mills, entrepreneur, master esthetician, and acne-specialist, focuses on true integrative skin health yielding clinical results. Jenn founded RBS in 2017 to introduce her approach of skin essentialism in a way that she believe supports optimal wellbeing. Despite a competitive market, Jenn has built a completely referral-based business that continues to flourish. Jenn holds an honors diploma in Esthetics from Aveda Institute Denver. A lifetime ago, she was the SE education coordinator for a major skincare brand where she managed education, training, sales, and curated facial events. Additionally, Jenn helped to create their first facial menu in the exclusive Hershesons London. She received her Post-Graduate Integrative Certification, and is currently working to submit her recent case study to the Journal of Integrative Dermatology. She has a decade of hands-on experience and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her undergraduate degree in Health and Wellness from Tulane University. Her integrative approach to skin health and acne’s pathogenisis considers the gut-skin axis and it’s entire ecosystem. While considering the multifactorial causes of acne, she values an individual approach to healing and preserving the skins’ barrier and microbiome. It is through the continued and earnest study of the skin and gut microbiome, physiology, cosmetic chemistry, corneotherapy, the fascia and connective tissue, and nutrition, that makes her approach celebrated by thousands of clients.     Mr. Arsh Patel is a 4th year medical student at Wake Forest School of Medicine. He attended the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor for his undergraduate studies and earned a B.S. with a dual-concentration in Biomolecualar Science and Drama. He completed his M.S. in Biomedical science at Wake Forest Graduate School. He has an interest in psychosocial impact of skin conditions, skin of color, pigmentary diseases, integrative medicine, oncology, and the humanities in healthcare. He is involved in a variety of projects, with a particular focus on raising awareness for and improving the quality-of-life of induviduals with skin conditions. Arsh is a passionate and motivated student researcher, with experience as a co-author on articles in peer-reviewed journals and presenter at various national conferences.

    Elizabeth Ko
    Elizabeth Ko, MD, FACP, received a bachelor's degree in physiological science from UCLA and a medical degree from the University of Miami. She completed her internal medicine residency and chief residency, with a focus on primary care, at Brown University. Dr. Ko completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. She is board-certified in internal medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Ko has worked at UCLA Health for 3 years in a primary care setting. Her clinical interests include lifestyle interventions and mind-body approaches for the prevention and management of chronic disease. She is a devoted student of yoga and finished her yoga teacher training at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. An avid home cook, Dr. Ko spent one year cooking in Los Angeles restaurants including A.O.C. and Spago Beverly Hills. She is currently pursuing medical acupuncture training through the Helms Medical Institute. Dr. Ko writes the national syndicated column, "Ask The Doctors."

    Meg Gerstenblith
    Meg Gerstenblith, MD is a board-certified dermatologist with a focus on melanoma and other types of skin cancer. Her training includes basic science and patient-based research focused on cancer, specifically skin cancer, in addition to Dermatology residency. After completing a second research fellowship after residency, she joined the faculty at Case Western Reserve University, where she focused on melanoma both in terms of patient care and clinical research. In addition, Dr. Gerstenblith mentored many medical students, residents, and fellows both in clinical care and in research projects.Dr. Gerstenblith is currently seeing patients part-time on the faculty of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is finishing a collaborative research project, funded by the NIH, focused on melanoma as a part-time faculty member of the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She continues to mentor medical students and residents both in clinic and on research projects and truly enjoys the teaching aspects of her profession. Dr. Gerstenblith also greatly enjoys writing scientific literature as well as translating what she is learning to her patients in clinic.

    Dr. Kurt Ashack is an assistant professor at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University CHM, completed his internship at St. Vincent hospital in Indianapolis, and his dermatology training at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he was the Chief Resident. He also completed the LearnSkin Integrative Dermatology Certificate Program in 2022 and strives to take a complete approach to patient care.Dr. Ashack is currently a part owner and general dermatologist at the Dermatology Associates of West Michigan in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

    Kristen Lo Sicco, MD FAAD completed her dermatology residency at UPMC and fellowship in complex medical dermatology at NYU, with a clinical focus on hair and scalp disorders as well as autoimmune connective tissue disorders (ACTD). She is currently an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at NYU and the Associate Director of the historic Skin and Cancer Unit. It was during her dermatology residency that she discovered the need for more dermatologists who specialize in alopecia and the importance of giving a voice to a population of people who often feel disregarded. Dr. Lo Sicco quickly realized the significant impact alopecia has on a person’s confidence and overall quality of life. She recognizes the importance of individuality when it comes to the effect a diagnosis has on someone as well as their response to treatment. In addition to lecturing at national and international conferences, including the American Academy of Dermatology, she has authored or coauthored over 50 peer reviewed publications in addition to 9 book chapters. At NYU Langone, she works with an incredible group of people to conduct clinical research and novel therapeutic trials with a focus on alopecia and complex medical dermatology. Together they strive to ultimately broaden their understanding of hair loss and ACTD, in addition to providing new therapies used to treat them.

    Stephany Vittitow is a third year medical student at the University of Virginia. She is from rural Kentucky and graduated from the University of Louisville in 2018 with a degree in biology and minors in history and psychology. She has a strong interest in dermatology and is excited to write about developments in the field.

    Jordan Parker is a 1st year medical student at the University of California, Riverside. He graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2018 with a degree in biology. Jordan’s clinical interests include pediatric dermatology, specifically autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. He believes that caring for skin conditions is of paramount importance as it is the first part of ourselves that we share with the external environment. He is also a firm advocate for living life with healthy skin, as he sees it as a vital marker of our overall health & well-being. Jordan is committed to helping those of all ages live a healthier and more confident lifestyle.

    Douglas DiRuggiero, DMSc, MHS, PA-C has over 20 years of clinical experience in Dermatology. He is a nationally recognized medical lecturer, accomplished founder and President of several dermatology societies, and a passionate dermatology teacher. Douglas has presented at over 50 conferences, has been awarded a national clinical science award for published research, Clinical Preceptor of the year by NP, PA and Residency programs, Humanitarian PA of the Year for the state of Georgia, the prestigious Presidential Volunteer Service Lifetime Achievement Award, and most recently, was named the National Dermatology PA of the Year by the SDPA. He completed a Doctorate of Medical Sciences degree with an emphasis in Health Care Leadership and Evidence-Based Research in May 2019.

    Guerry Grune, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Pratt School Masters of Engineering Department at Duke University, where he lectures on Intellectual Asset Management and green, sustainable new product development. He has authored over 50 publications and technical disclosures and is listed as an inventor or co-inventor in over 100 patents, patent publications, and patent applications either pending or granted.

    Ms. Lakshi Aldredge is a nurse practitioner who has practiced at the Portland VA Medical Center for the past 22 years, the last eight years in the medical Dermatology Service. She received her Bachelor’s of Science and Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Portland in Portland, Oregon and is board certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She is the Past President of the national Dermatology Nurses’ Association and is the current Chair of the Nurse Practitioner Society of the DNA. She is a member of the medical Advisory Board of the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) and is a member of the NPF’s Community Outreach Taskforce. She is on the Advisory board of Dermatology World, is an Associate Editor of Psoriasis Forum, the peer-reviewed journal of the National Psoriasis Foundation, as well as a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association. She received the Secretary’s Award for Excellence in Nursing in 2008 from the Portland VA Medical Center.

    Dr. Manisha Notay obtained her medical degree from University College London Medical School in 2013. She then completed two years of postgraduate medical training in London before relocating to California and is currently a dermatology resident at UC Davis. She has an interest in effective and natural based skin care. Her research has been focused on the role of the gut and skin microbiome in Dermatology.

    Antía Itzel Gómez is currently a second-year medical student at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. She holds a BA in Spanish from Pomona College and a PhD in literature from New York University, where she wrote a dissertation on alcoholism, diabetes, and narco-trafficking in Mexican and Chicana cultural production. Antía’s interest in becoming a physician emerged from her personal experiences as a transgender Latina. As a transgender woman of color with access to the science and practice of medicine, she hopes to provide culturally humble patient education, preventative medicine, and disease treatment for those in her communities.

    Dr. Alexis Carrington is born and raised in Sacramento, CA and currently a Post-Doctorate Research Fellow at UC Davis Department of Dermatology. She graduated with High Honors from St. George’s University School of Medicine Grenada, West Indies in 2019, completing her basic science years in Grenada and her clinical years in Brooklyn, NY. She completed her Internal Medicine Preliminary year at Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine Elmhurst Hospital Program in New York City, during the peak of COVID-19. Dr. Carrington always had a passion for skin health and dermatology. She is fascinated with complex dermatology of all skin types, integrating holistic skin health and prevention both nationally and internationally as well as public medical education. Her research has been focused on the role of the gut and skin microbiome on various complex dermatological conditions.

    Dr. Rachel Day is a New York City native who was raised in Northern New Jersey where her family still resides. She attended Lehigh University and graduated with a Bachler's degree in Behavioral Neuroscience and minor in Psychology, with honors. After graduation Dr. Day matriculated into Weill Cornell Medical College, in New York City, where she was actively involved in the Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP), a high-school science enrichment program aimed at increasing exposure to health-related careers to those from underserved and underrepresented backgrounds. Dr. Day received her medical degree in 2013 and went on to complete her Transitional Year Internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.   After internship, she completed her dermatology residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital- Cornell. Following her nine years of training in New York City she and her family moved to Chambersburg where she has practiced as a board-certified dermatologist for the past three years. She is a practicing Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Day is the founder and CEO of OneSkin Dermatology, a direct care dermatology skin-health and wellness practice.   In addition to her practice she own's and operates the good life by oneskin in downtown Chambersburg, a socially-conscious retail experience. Dr. Day is active within her community serving as a board member of the United Way of Franklin County and a community board member of Franklin Hospice among other roles.
