    Jayarajan Kodikannath
    Jayarajan Kodikannath is a renowned Ayurvedic scholar, clinician and educator with over two decades of clinical expertise in India and the U.S. He represents a lineage of traditional Ayurvedic Practitioners (Vaidyas) in Kerala, India with extensive knowledge in the ancient root texts of Ayurveda. He is currently the Academy Director and Chief Ayurveda consultant of Kerala Ayurveda USA. He serves on the Board of Directors for the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA) and California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine (CAAM) and also served as a member of the Expert Curriculum Committee for Masters in Ayurveda at Bastyr University, Seattle. “Dr. J,” as his students call him for short, is a compassionate healer and educator, devoted to the mission of imparting the traditional teachings of Kerala’s Ayurveda.

    Steven Sandberg-Lewis, ND, DHANP has been a practicing naturopathic physician for over four decades and a professor of gastroenterology at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) since 1996. He maintains a part-time practice at Hive Mind Medicine in Portland, Oregon ([email protected]). He is a popular lecturer at functional medicine seminars, presents webinars and is frequently interviewed on issues of digestive health and disease. He is the author of the medical textbook Functional Gastroenterology: Assessing and Addressing the Causes of Functional Digestive Disorders, 2017. In 2010 he co-founded the SIBO Center at NUNM which is one of only four centers in the USA for Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth diagnosis, treatment, education and research. Within gastroenterology, he has special interest and expertise in inflammatory bowel disease (including microscopic colitis), irritable bowel syndrome (including post-infectious IBS), Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), hiatal hernia, gastroesophageal and bile reflux (GERD), biliary dyskinesia, and chronic states of nausea and vomiting.

    Dr. Anna Cabeca is triple board certified in Gynecology and Obstetrics, Integrative Medicine, and Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, as well as an expert in Functional Medicine, menopause, and women’s sexual health. She specializes in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and natural alternatives, successful menopause, and age management medicine. Dr. Cabeca earned her medical degree from Nova-Southeastern University of the Health Sciences in Florida. Since completing her residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, she has maintained a private practice in Southeast Georgia.

    SUSAN WEIS-BOHLEN is a full-time Ayurvedic consultant, cooking teacher, meditation teacher, and leader of sacred site tours. Susan’s personal journey into the Ayurvedic lifestyle began when she came across the Ayurvedic cleansing technique of panchakarma. What began as the release of damaging toxins and personal difficulties eventually grew into an impassioned vocation. She has since studied with the best teachers of Ayurveda, both in the US and in India. Susan knows exactly how challenging it can be to come to Ayurveda as a beginner and has dedicated her life to sharing the fruits of her studies with students all over the world. In 2004 Susan opened Breathe Books, a metaphysical bookstore, in Baltimore, and in 2012 she added an Ayurvedic/vegetarian café. In 2008 Susan received her first certification in Ayurveda from the Chopra Center in California. In subsequent years she studied with Dr. Vasant Lad in New Mexico and India. In addition, Susan is certified in Ayurvedic cooking from Amadea Morningstar, the author of the world renowned Ayurvedic Cookbook, and Ayurvedic Cooking for Westerners. After 10 years of running the business, Susan decided in 2014 to close the shop and café and concentrate fully on her Ayurvedic practice. She is now a full-time Ayurvedic consultant, meditation teacher, Ayurvedic cooking teacher, and speaker. Susan also leads meditation, yoga and Ayurveda tours to sacred sites in India. In February 2018, Susan published her first book, which became an instant Amazon best-seller, Ayurveda Beginner’s Guide: Essential Ayurvedic Principles & Practices to Balance and Heal Naturally. Susan lives with her husband Larry and their three dogs, Ella, Shadow and Joonie (a rescue from Pune, India), in the woods in Reisterstown, Maryland just outside of Baltimore City.

    Melissa Piliang
    Dr. Melissa Piliang joined the staff at the Cleveland Clinic after completing both a residency in dermatology and a fellowship in dermatopathology at the Cleveland Clinic. She is a graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor’s degree from PurdueUniversity. Her areas of interest are alopecias, androgen disorders, cutaneous infections and dermatopathology. She has authored numerous scientific papers and textbook chapters. At Cleveland Clinic Dr. Piliang serves as Vice Chair of Education in the Dermatology and Plastic Surgery Institute, associate program director for the dermatology residency and the dermatopathology fellowship and co-director of the Dermatopathology Section. Dr. Piliang is active in American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatopathology, the Women’s Dermatologic Society serving on boards and chairing many committees and is President-Elect of the Ohio Dermatologic Association Dr. Piliang regularly appears in print, radio and television media including The Dr. Oz Show and Magazine, The New York Times, NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, Fox 8 Cleveland, Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Weather Channel, Women’s Health and Martha Stewart Living among many others.

    Bob Geng
    Dr. Bob Geng is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He is also affiliated with Rady Children's Hospital. Dr. Geng sees both Pediatric as well as Adult patients for Allergic and Immunologic disorders. He is currently the Allergy Director of the Multidisciplinary Atopic Dermatitis Program at Rady, and also serves as the Co-Director of the Allergy Asthma Foundation-UCSD Severe Asthma Program at Rady.   Dr. Geng received his Bachelor of Science as well as Masters of Arts from Georgetown University. He received his Doctorate in Medicine from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. He then went on to complete a Residency in Internal Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Following that, he went on to pursue a Fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at University of California, Los Angeles. He also completed a Fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology at University of California, Los Angeles. Upon completion of training, he was recruited by University of California, San Diego to serve as clinical faculty. He spends half of his time in clinical medicine, and the rest of his time in academic pursuits such as teaching and research. His focus of research has been on the use of Targeted Precision Medicine therapies on the treatment of Allergic and Immunologic disorders. He is the Principal Investigator on numerous studies and collaborate with an extensive team of basic scientists on Translational Research pertaining to Allergy/Immunology.

    Jennifer Fugo, MS, CNS, LDN is a licensed clinical nutritionist empowering people failed by conventional approaches to beat chronic skin and unending gut challenges. Because she’s overcome a long history of gut issues and eczema, Jennifer has empathy and insight to help her clients discover missing pieces and create doable integrative plans. She has a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport and is a Certified Nutrition Specialist. Her work has been featured on Dr. Oz, Reuters, Yahoo!, CNN, and many podcasts and summits. Jennifer is the host of the Healthy Skin Show podcast.

  8. Danielle Tartar

    Danielle Tartar
    Dr. Tartar is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. She completed her MD and PhD at the University of Missouri, where her research focused on CD4+ T cells in autoimmune disease. She then completed her intern year at the University of Chicago before moving to Sacramento to complete her dermatology residency at the University of California, Davis, where she served as Chief Resident in 2016-17. During residency, Dr. Tartar stayed active in research, studying the immunology of wound healing. Her background in immunology has led her to cultivate an interest in complex medical dermatology and rheumatology-dermatology, and she is currently on faculty as both the Co-Director of Inpatient Dermatology and Co-Director of the Autoimmune Connective Tissue Disease Clinic. Dr. Tartar is also very involved in resident education at UC Davis, where she serves as the Associate Program Director. In her free time, she spends time with her two Siberian Huskies, Thor and Loki.

    Prior to serving the health non-profit sector, Kelly Barta worked as a contract musician; a live performing and studio artist in vocals and piano. After a health crisis that left her bedridden for over 1 1/2 years due to an adverse outcome from long-term topical steroid use to treat eczema called Topical Steroid Withdrawal Syndrome (TSW), Kelly joined ITSAN as a member of the Board of Directors in 2016. ITSAN is an international nonprofit organization that supports over 10,000 individuals around the world who are going through TSW and serves as a resource for both patients and physicians. She went on to become the Executive Director in 2017 and then ITSAN’s President in 2018. The unspeakable suffering, isolation, and lack of medical awareness and support for those going through TSW drove Kelly into the world of advocacy. This led her to also work with the National Eczema Association and to her current role as State Lead of Advocacy and Special Projects Manager for Allergy and Asthma Network (AAN), a national nonprofit that serves over 24 million people with asthma and 50 million with allergies and related conditions like eczema. In addition to her work with AAN, she serves as President of the Coalition of Skin Diseases, a group of over 20 US based, skin-related patient organizations and affiliates that exists to elevate awareness of skin diseases and promote research, advocacy and education around skin disease and health. She also serves on the Atopic Dermatitis Advocacy Advisory board for Globalskin (IADPO), an international group of 160 patient organizations from 50 countries. Kelly is impassioned to be a voice for the voiceless and has had the opportunity to bring awareness to the great needs of individuals with skin disease in both academic and political arenas, speaking in universities and on state and federal levels. Her hope is that through collaboration between patients, physicians, industry, and policy makers, the understanding of skin disease and advancements in treatment would help alleviate the suffering of those living with skin conditions and create a better tomorrow for all in healthcare. Kelly currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her two sons and cat, Silverbell.

    Dr. Aly Cohen is a board-certified rheumatologist and integrative medicine physician, as well as an environmental health specialist. Her medical practice, Integrative Rheumatology Associates, P.C., located in Princeton, NJ, focuses on the western medical and integrative approaches to rheumatologic disorders, including arthritis, chronic pain, immune system dysfunction and women’s health.

    Lexie Kessler is a third year medical student at Chicago Medical School. She was born and raised in South Florida and completed her undergraduate education in Psychobiology at UCLA in 2017. Throughout her medical journey, she has enjoyed participating in a variety of educational experiences. She was a Research Associate at UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, Anatomy Teaching Assistant in the cadaver lab, Research Fellow team leader for the GPF foundation and Vice President of the Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery Interest Group at Rosalind Franklin University. Although her interest in pursuing a career in Dermatology has been rooted since high school, her most recent personal experiences with strange and unusual cutaneous manifestations has driven her interest even further. Lexie has been, and is currently, experiencing the frustrations that many other patients endure on their paths to diagnosis and treatment. With skin being the largest and most understudied organ in the body, she hopes to further research advances in order to be a more knowledgeable and effective physician for her patients.

    Ciara Grayson is a fourth year medical student at Florida State University College of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University and Master’s in Biomedical Sciences from Florida State University College of Medicine. She served as president of Student National Medical Association (SNMA) and was a Student Advisory Council Representative. Ciara is also a member of Gold Humanism Honor Society. She is excited to pursue a career in dermatology and practice patient-centered care to individuals of all ages. Her special interests in dermatology include hair loss, acne, and increasing access to dermatologic care in underserved populations. Ciara enjoys mentoring, baking and gardening.

    Ajay Patel founded Verdure Sciences, Inc. (a plant-based ingredient company) nearly 25 years ago, in which he has been a huge advocate for ingredient identity controls to deliver much needed traceability and transparency. In addition, Patel has found success in substantiating traditional herbals with clinical research, which Verdure began investigating nearly 20 years ago. Patel brings immense botanical industry insight having worked directly with farmers, contract manufacturers, and finished product marketing companies on a global scale. Patel has established several branded ingredients and has been intimately involved in all aspects of the process from the agronomy to the capsule.     Neha Chandan completed her medical education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she pursued a MD/MPH joint degree. She is currently completing her intern year in Chicago and will be returning to the University of Illinois to complete her dermatology residency as a member of the Class of 2024. Aside from dermatology, Neha is interested in community health and health disparities in both local and global communities. She has spearheaded numerous medical and public health brigades to underserved areas in Central America and has helped set up nonprofit dermatology clinics around Chicago. As a public health-trained and research-based clinician, her mission is to utilize evidence-based literature and cultural understanding to create and promote community outreach programs within the field of dermatology. In her spare time, Neha enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and barre classes.

    Douglas Triffon
    Dr. Douglas Triffon, MD is a Cardiology Specialist in La Jolla, CA and has over 42 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Triffon has more experience with Adult Congenital Heart Conditions than other specialists in his area. He graduated from Ohio State U, College of Medicine medical school in 1979. He is affiliated with medical facilities Scripps Green Hospital and Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. He has indicated that he accepts telehealth appointments.     Sarah Rigali is a first year medical student at Rosalind Franklin University. She graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a bachelor's degree in Biology. Her interest in dermatology was nurtured by working as a medical scribe after college in the Northwestern Memorial Department of Dermatology. She then spent a year helping develop wireless vital sign devices intended to improve maternal and neonatal experience in the NICU. He is a world renown expert in disorders of the scalp and hair. He has published over 200 peer reviewed articles, 4 books in 3 languages, dozens of book chapters, and lectured internationally on 4 continents. He has trained over 30 Hair Fellows from all over the world.

    Vinod Nambudiri is an Associate Physician in the Department of Dermatology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute and an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School. His clinical interests are in medical dermatology and cutaneous oncology, and his research interests include medical education, technology in medicine, and physician leadership.
