    Denis Wilson
    For more than 30 years, Denis Wilson, MD, has focused on restoring thyroid health, metabolism, and body temperature. He is the author of 4 books including Wilson’s Temperature Syndrome, Doctor’s Manual for Wilson’s Temperature Syndrome, and Evidence-Based Approach to Restoring Thyroid Health. He is the first doctor to use sustained-release T3 and he has been educating physicians for over 26 years on its use in the treatment of Wilson’s Temperature Syndrome, a condition in which people exhibit low thyroid and low body temperature symptoms but have normal thyroid blood test results. Since 2001, he has also been training doctors in the use of herbs and nutrients for supporting thyroid and adrenal health. In his most recent book, The Power of Fastercise, he explains how lifestyle can promote metabolic health. Dr. Wilson speaks at medical conventions and medical schools both nationally and internationally.

    Kitty is a veteran risk manager/insurance advisor, working in transfer of risk for businesses since 1985, the last 20 of those years dedicated to “all things” Healthcare. Dr. Vasant Lad and the Ayurvedic Institute, a renowned U.S. School of Ayurveda located in Kitty’s home town of Albuquerque, New Mexico, became her client shortly after the new Millennium. The interesting blend of “traditional” western and age-old eastern medicine has been a significant part of her client book since, with institutes, ayurvedic resorts, national and state association representation (NAMA, CAAM, The Maharishi Institute…), authors, med spa & traditional medicine integrative care clinics, as well as numerous practitioners. Vimergy, Kerala and Dr. Sivamani’s research group and his imminent product launch with Jivome.com supplementals are examples of her work.

    John S Barbieri, MD, MBA is a research fellow in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his medical degree from Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and additionally received an MBA from the Wharton School. He subsequently completed his residency in Dermatology at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Barbieri’s research interests include acne vulgaris, patient reported outcome development, the use of technology in medicine, and delivering high-value care.

    Dr. Anna Yusim is an award-winning, Stanford- and Yale-educated, Board Certified Psychiatrist with a robust private practice in New York City. On the Clinical Faculty at Yale Medical School, Dr. Yusim is the best-selling author of Fulfilled: How the Science of Spirituality Can Help You Live a Happier, More Meaningful Life. Having helped over 1200 patients live happier, more meaningful lives, Dr. Yusim is presently starting a Spirituality and Mental Health Center at Yale. After working as a neurobiology researcher with Dr. Robert Sapolsky Ph.D. and completing her studies at Stanford, Yale Medical School, and the NYU Psychiatry Residency Training Program, Dr. Yusim felt that something was missing from her life. In her quest to find it, she traveled, lived and worked in over 60 countries, while studying Kabbalah, learning Buddhist meditation, and working with South American shamans and Indian gurus. Dr. Yusim has published over 70 academic articles, book chapters, scientific abstracts and book reviews on various topics in psychiatry.     Dr. Chapman first began his education into health and wellness by cultivating a strong curiosity into the factors that shape mood and behavior by studying neuropsychology and biochemistry as an undergraduate at Indiana University. It was also during this time that he began studying Tibetan Buddhism and integral philosophy which also shapes his approach to health and wellness.After spending a year in pharmaceutical drug research awaiting and preparing for medical school, he decided to alter his course and pursue a career in naturopathic medicine rather than conventional medicine. He attended Bastyr University and focused his training in nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy, and biofeedback. It was during this time that he started to cultivate his own approach to medicine.Dr. Chapman opened his own private practice in Asheville, North Carolina where he focused on getting to the root causes of patient's chronic conditions. While this often involved natural therapies such as herbal medicine and nutrient therapy, he also began to focus more on overcoming the barriers to behavior & lifestyle change.The last 4 years, he has worked at Genova Diagnostics as Product Development Manager and Medical Education Specialist. Aside from educating and consulting with integrative and functional medicine practitioners, he is responsible for researching and developing new test panels such as Genova's Methylation Panel. He is Genova's nutrition, genomics, and endocrine product line specialist and has delivered presentations nationwide at functional and integrative medicine conferences such as A4M, IFM, and IHS.Dr. Chapman is a writer and contributor to the upcoming edition of The Textbook of Natural Medicine, authoring chapters on urinary organic acid testing and urinary porphyrin analysis. His recent work is on his new integral approach to medicine called the Tenets of Health. Through this innovative approach, Dr. Chapman is bringing his unique insights to help patients discover their own obstacles to healing, which allows them to truly heal inside-out.

She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelors of Arts in Public Health and from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a Master of Health Sciences in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.   She previously completed a research fellowship with LearnSkin’s senior contributor, Dr. Vivian Shi. She developed a passion for medical and integrative approaches to managing hidradenitis suppurativa patients.

    Joyce Chen is a first-year medical student at California Northstate University, College of Medicine. She graduated from Cornell University in 2017 with a degree in Human Biology, Health and Society and from Brown University in 2019 with a Masters's degree in Medical Sciences. Having previously worked on the business side of skincare and cosmeceuticals, she developed a strong interest in dermatology. She hopes to help empower her future patients to make informed decisions about the medicines and products they use to improve their skin health.

    Dr Neal Jain is an Arizona native. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and subsequently trained in Pediatrics at Phoenix Children’s Hospital where he served as a chief resident during 2001-2002. Both he and Dr. Shimamoto trained in Allergy, Asthma and Immunology at National Jewish Health Center and University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Jain was appointed Chief Fellow at National Jewish Health Center and was a member of the Medical Staff between 2003-2004. Prior to joining San Tan Allergy & Asthma in January 2010 , he practiced as an Allergist/Immunologist at Dean Health System in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Jain was also on faculty as a Professor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin in the division of Allergy, Pulmonary, and Critical Care Medicine, where he supervised fellows in training. He has been an active member of the community serving as Medical Director for the Food Allergy Association of Wisconsin, Chair of The Wisconsin Asthma Coalition and on the Board of Directors for the National Eczema Association. Dr. Jain is President of the Arizona Allergy Society, a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, & Immunology and of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is board certified by the American Board of Allergy & Immunology and Pediatrics. Dr. Jain is currently a regular contributing writer of the “House Call” segment for the magazine Living Without (http://www.livingwithout.com/) and has also been featured on a nationally syndicated television program to discuss new asthma technologies. He has authored or co-authored a number of studies published in peer-reviewed journals and continues to pursue clinical research. Dr. Jain is currently accepting new pediatric and adult patients. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Jain enjoys spending time with his family, playing doubles sand volleyball, and cooking.

    Dr. Jacknin is a board-certified dermatologist, author, national speaker, and consultant, with expertise in holistic dermatology, natural cosmeceuticals, and topical hemp and cannabinoids for beauty and health. She is the author of the 400 pg. classic book Smart Medicine for Your Skin, published by Penguin Putnam in 2001. It was the first book to detail what integrative dermatology is, and to discuss in depth the conventional and holistic treatments for 33 different skin disorders and healthy states.

    Dr. Jennifer Hsiao is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Southern California (USC). She is dedicated to improving the medical care and quality of life for patients with hidradenitis suppurativa through direct patient interaction as well as research. She is also interested in management of skin conditions in pregnant and breastfeeding patients. In addition to her clinical work, she is also passionate about medical education, and enjoys teaching medical students and residents.

    Board-certified in cardiovascular disease, internal medicine and Integrative Holistic Medicine, Dr. Mimi Guarneri is President of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM) and the Past President of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine (ABIHM) and served as Senior Advisor to the Atlantic Health System for the Chambers Center for Well Being, among other healthcare systems. Dr. Guarneri currently serves on the Founding Board of the American Board Physician Specialties in Integrative Medicine (ABOIM), and is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). She is co-founder and medical director of Guarneri Integrative Health, Inc. at Pacific Pearl La Jolla in La Jolla, California, U.S.A. since 2014, where she leads a team of experts in Conventional, Integrative and Natural Medicine.

    Dr. Aric Prather is an associate professor in the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and the director of the UCSF Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program. His research focuses on the inter-relationship between psychological stress and sleep as dynamic predictors of physical and mental health. His research utilizes epidemiologic, naturalistic, and laboratory based studies to understand the extent to which sleep disturbance serves as a critical behavioral pathway to poor health. With specialized training in psychoneuroimmunology (PNI), he primarily focuses on immune outcomes implicated in infectious disease, inflammatory conditions, and accelerated immunosenescence. He is also a licensed clinical-health psychologist who specializes in treating Insomnia Disorder using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

    Ardalan Minokadeh, MD PhD, is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship trained cosmetic dermatologist. He completed a highly competitive and rigorous ASDS (American Society of Dermatologic Surgery) accredited fellowship at Skin Care and Laser Physicians of Beverly Hills. During this year long fellowship, he worked one-on-one with hands-on training from mentors Drs. Derek Jones and Naissan Wesley and has since joined the practice as an associate.Dr. Ardalan's passion for medicine started during his time at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. He was subsequently accepted into 1 of the 2 positions in the competitive tuition-free Physician Scientist Program at the Tulane University School of Medicine after which he obtained both his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Dr. Ardalan's Ph.D. research in neuropeptides was conducted at the University of California, San Diego, for which his research was supported by funding awarded to him from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).Dr. Ardalan chose to stay in New Orleans, LA, at Tulane University to complete his dermatology residency training along with an internship in Internal Medicine. In his last year of training, he served as Chief Resident of Medical Education.As a physician and scientist, Dr. Ardalan is committed to advancing the field of dermatology, and in this light, has authored many peer reviewed publications in leading medical journals, has authored several textbook chapters and presented scholarly lectures at national and international dermatology meetings. He has also served as an investigator for clinical trials in cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Ardalan is a member of many relevant organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery.

    Dr. Kimber Stanhope is Research Nutritional Biologist in the Department of Molecular Biosciences, University of California Davis, and a nationally/internationally recognized expert on the health effects of added sugar consumption. She is currently conducting her 5th NIH-awarded clinical study, which includes a recently funded investigation comparing the consumption of sucrose-sweetened beverages and naturally-sweetened orange juice on metabolic processes involved in the development of cardiometabolic disease. She has authored/coauthored over 40 research reports and reviews on the topic of sugar consumption. She has made over 50 presentations at state/national/international conferences and summits and has participated in more than 100 interviews, which included appearances on CBS 60 Minutes and CBC 5th Estate.
