    Dr. Mercedes E. Gonzalez is a board-certified pediatric dermatologist. After graduating from Emory University, she earned her degree at Rutgers–New Jersey Medical School in 2004. Always drawn to working with children, she accepted the prestigious pediatrics program at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York–Columbia University where she solidified her interest in treating skin disorders. She then completed a dermatology residency followed by a clinical fellowship in pediatric dermatology at the top-ranked New York University (NYU) Department of Dermatology.Her gentle, child-friendly bedside manner, combined with her broad knowledge of childhood skin diseases and their treatments, make her the preferred pediatric dermatologist in Miami. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Gonzalez currently serves as a clinical assistant professor at The FIU Herbert Wertheim School of Medicine and The Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology at Miller School of Medicine.Dr. Gonzalez serves as the principal investigator on numerous clinical trials and has a special interest in severe skin diseases in children. She lectures regularly at dermatology conferences and to medical students and residents and is the co-editor of 3 dermatology textbooks, including the recently published 2nd edition of Goodheart’s Same Site Differential Diagnosis, and has published over 50 journal articles.

    Featured on TLC’s ‘Bad Hair Day, Dr. Meena Singh is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon. She attended Harvard Medical School, trained at the Mayo Clinic, and completed a procedural fellowship with the International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery, under Dr. Marc Avram. As part of her surgical fellowship training in New York City, she also became trained and board-certified in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, as well as cosmetic dermatology procedures, such as Botox, lasers, and fillers.Dr. Singh is the medical director of the Derm and Hair Center. She maintains special expertise in hair transplantation, medical therapy for all forms of hair loss and treating ethnic skin. She has lectured at numerous international surgical conferences.Dr. Singh recently starred in the TLC network show, ‘Bad Hair Day’ where she performed hair restoration procedures for patients with severely distressing scalp disorders. She has been featured on the cover of the New York Times and has numerous publications in many peer-reviewed dermatology journals, book chapters, and has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine. She is a reviewer for the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology and the Dermatologic Surgery journal.She co-authored, “Hair Transplantation, Aesthetic Series” complete hair transplant textbook. She also has had numerous TV/media appearances. Dr. Singh has served on several boards including the Kansas City Dermatologic Society, Greater Kansas City chapter of the National Medical Association (NMA) and the NMA Dermatology section. Dr. Singh has performed clinical trials in laser hair stimulation, as well as studies in hair transplantation for scarring and non-scarring forms of hair loss. She has also performed investigative studies on skin cancer in transplant recipients, as well as tissue engineering.

    Dr. Goh practices general medical dermatology with a specialty in hair loss and scalp disorders. She did undergraduate studies at Stanford University, medical school at Weill Medical College of Cornell University with honors in both research and community service. She completed her residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Cornell in New York City. Her research and clinical interests are in all types of hair loss including alopecia areata and scarring alopecia. She has been active with patient advocacy groups and local support groups for patients with hair loss.She has published numerous articles, book chapters, and is sought after for speaking engagements. She has been featured in many media outlets including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and NPR. She is active in the dermatology community, serving on committees for the American Academy of Dermatology, American Hair Research Society, Women's Dermatologic Society, and Skin of Color Society.

    Adam Friedman, MD, FAAD is a Professor and Chair of Dermatology in the Department of Dermatology, as well as Director of Translational Research and Dermatology, Director of the Residency Program, and the Director of the Supportive Oncodermatology Program at George Washington School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, DC.He has published over 220 articles and book chapters and is the editor of 3 textbooks. He is also on the Editorial Board for Dermatology News, Practical Dermatology and Cutis, and is Senior Editor of Dermatology in Review.Dr. Friedman is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and serves as Chair of the Annual Meeting Poster Task Force, and sits on the Curriculum Task Force.     Cristina Curp, a Miami native and daughter of Cuban immigrants, has transformed her personal battle with Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) into a powerful mission of education and advocacy. Diagnosed with stage III HS as a teen, Cristina endured years of painful lesions and limited medical support—especially as a military spouse navigating the Tricare system.Drawing on her background as a chef, Cristina turned to nutrition as a means of healing, ultimately bringing her HS into remission through targeted dietary and lifestyle changes. For over a decade, she has shared her experience and expertise to help others living with HS and metabolic syndrome discover the power of food in managing inflammation and supporting overall health.Today, as Chief Operating Officer of HS Connect, Cristina channels her passion into building global awareness, community support, and advocacy for those affected by HS.     Dr. Joanna Rosen is a licensed clinical psychologist and trauma expert based in Newtown, CT, who specializes in trauma prevention, early response, and recovery. She holds a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Rosen also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Yale and is the founder of BETWEEN2EARS® — Advanced Trauma Consultancy.

    Dr. Mehdi Rashighi is a physician-scientist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Chan Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. He earned his MD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. In 2011, Dr. Rashighi joined Dr. John Harris’s vitiligo research laboratory at UMass Chan Medical School, where he utilized basic and translational research approaches to uncover a critical immune pathway involved in the pathogenesis of vitiligo. This discovery led to the successful off-label use of JAK inhibitors for vitiligo and subsequently informed the design and implementation of clinical trials for these therapies.Dr. Rashighi established the Connective Tissue Disease Clinic and Research Center following his dermatology residency at UMass. Through this initiative, he advances translational and clinical research to deepen understanding of autoimmune processes in inflammatory skin diseases, emphasizing developing innovative, targeted treatments.

    Christopher Bunick, MD PhD is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Yale School of Medicine in the Department of Dermatology. He specializes in general medical dermatology and dermatologic surgery. He also performs unique dermatologic research studying the three-dimensional structures of skin-related proteins using x-ray crystallography and cryo-electron microscopy. He completed medical internship, dermatology residency, and a dermatology research fellowship (mentored by Nobel Laureate Dr. Thomas A. Steitz) at Yale School of Medicine. Chris’ research has pioneered a new focus in dermatology on fundamental biochemistry and structural biology, particularly connecting the atomic resolution mechanisms of action of a therapeutic to its clinical performance and safety.

    Dr. Erik Domingues, a board-certified Dermatologist, grew up in New Bedford, MA, graduating from New Bedford High School. He then graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts – Dartmouth with a degree in Chemistry. He completed medical school at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School and an Internal Medicine Internship at St. Vincent Hospital – Worcester Medical Center. He completed his residency in Dermatology at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in Worcester. He is also the founder and CEO of Modern Dermatology of Massachusetts in Fall River, MA. Dr. Domingues is an Assistant Professor in Dermatology at the Department of Dermatology at the UMass Chan Medical School, helping train the next generation of Dermatologists.  He volunteers extensively in the Southcoast community, including serving as chairman of the Southcoast Community Foundation Scholarship Committee.  He has also previously served on the Southcoast Community Foundation’s board of directors. Since 2009, he has volunteered for the American Academy of Dermatology’s Camp Discovery in Pennsylvania, a camp for children with various skin disorders. He is currently one of the activities co-directors for the Camp that runs every August.His previous research includes working on an educational intervention developed to enhance the ability and willingness of medical students to examine the skin for melanoma.He specializes in surgical, cosmetic, and medical Dermatology with a special interest in complex medical dermatology including psoriasis, alopecia areata, eczema, hidradenitis suppurativa and vitiligo. He lectures regionally and nationally on these topics and enjoys seeing difficult to treat cases referred by other practices.

    Erin Barrett (Wei), MD is a board-certified dermatologist and NIH-funded clinical investigator with expertise in autoimmune bullous diseases and clinical trial leadership. She earned her undergraduate degree from MIT and her medical degree with honors from Harvard Medical School, where she was a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellow.She completed her dermatology residency and served as chief resident at the University of Miami. Dr. Barrett previously held faculty roles at Brigham and Women’s Hospital-Harvard Medical School, where she led the Bullous Disease Clinic and received multiple awards for research and patient care.Currently at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, she serves as Director of Clinical Trials, Director of Inpatient Dermatology Services, and co-Director of both the Bullous Disease and Skin of Color Clinics. She is also pursuing an Executive MBA at the University of Nebraska Omaha.

    Dr. Ganary Dabiri is a double board-certified dermatologist and obesity medicine specialist. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, she graduated with honors from Florida International University before earning her master’s degree and PhD in cell biology and cancer research at Albany Medical College, where she also completed medical school. She trained in dermatology at Roger Williams Medical Center/Boston University and served as Chief Resident. Dr. Dabiri holds a U.S. patent for a small molecule inhibitor targeting abnormal scar formation, has published extensively in leading dermatology journals, and has served as principal investigator on multiple independent and industry-sponsored studies. In 2024, she founded The Skin Inflammation and Obesity Medicine Clinic outside Boston, the first combined clinic of its kind in Massachusetts, offering a more integrative approach to patient care. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology and the Obesity Medicine Association.

    Seemal R Desai, MD FAAD is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, and a Board Certified Dermatologist. He graduated with honors from Emory University. He received his medical training at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, and received his Doctor of Medicine degree with Magna Cum Laude with honors. Following medical school, Dr. Desai completed his medical internship in Internal Medicine. He then went on to complete his residency at The University of Alabama at Birmingham and served as Chief Resident for the Department of Dermatology.Dr. Desai has been active on a local, state, and national level with numerous medical organizations, and is also actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents. He is the Founder & Medical Director of Innovative Dermatology, a state-of-the-art private practice in the Dallas area, and also serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.Dr. Desai is the author of numerous publications and has been invited to present at countless national and international Dermatology events. His clinical expertise includes the treatment of vitiligo, and other disorders of pigmentation, psoriasis, acne, skin disease in skin of color, cosmeceuticals, and new drug therapies.Dr. Desai is very active in the dermatologic community and is the Past President of the Skin of Color Society, and Past President of the Texas Dermatological Society. In addition, he is a Past President of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Dermatological Society. He also served on the Board of Directors of the International Society of Dermatology, the Board of Directors of the Women’s Dermatologic Society, the Board of Directors of the Global Vitiligo Foundation, and has been on the Board of SkinPAC and the Skin of Color Society. In 2017, Dr. Desai was elected to the American Academy of Dermatology Board of Directors, and also served on the AAD Executive Committee.Dr. Desai is the President of the American Academy of Dermatology, and is the youngest dermatologist to ever be elected AAD President. He began his term as AAD President-Elect in 2023, and as AAD President in 2024. In 2017, and again in 2021, Dr. Desai was appointed to serve on the US Food & Drug Administration, Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee (PCAC), and is the only dermatologist on this federal hearing committee. He was reappointed to another full 4 year term in 2021. He also serves as the Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical & Aesthetic Dermatology and Pigment International. He has given over 150+ lectures nationally and internationally, and is passionate about advocacy and advancement of our specialty. He is married and has one daughter and one son.

    Dr. Faranak Kamangar is a Silicon Valley-based board-certified dermatologist, engineer, and thought leader in the healthtech field. In her Palo Alto practice, she is dedicated to removing barriers for patients and physicians alike. Dr. Kamangar founded DermGPT, an innovative, first-of-its-kind AI tool that curates answers from more than 60,000 peer reviewed journals to helpdermatologists improve clinical efficiency through practical colleague-like answers. She serves as the Chair of the Palo Alto Medical foundation and President of the San Francisco Dermatological Society. Dr. Kamangar has also received national attention being featured in national publications including Medical News Today, Women's Health, Business Insider, and others, along with hosting the podcast The Future of Dermatology.

    Dr. Mandel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine since 2010. He is a three time graduate from the University of Miami, beginning in 1988 for undergraduate education and completing his final degree in 2009. He teaches integumentary and acute care patient management in the professional entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program as well as in the sports, ortho, neuro, cardiopulmonary, and pediatric physical therapy residency programs. Dr. Mandel’s research focuses on physical impairments and function limitations in individuals with chronic muscle wasting disease, in particular post- liver transplant, post-stem cell transplant, and Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Dr. Mandel chairs the admissions committee for the entry level professional DPT program. He has 30 years of clinical practice experience in the Acute Care setting rotating between wound care, trauma, ICU, cardiopulmonary surgery, general medical/telemetry, orthopedic, and neurological surgery units.

She is a southern California native who graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in Environmental Science. She also has a Master’s degree in Public Health from SUNY Downstate. Prior to medical school, she worked in consulting as an Environmental Health Analyst and in basic science and clinical research at UCLA and California State University Northridge. Joelle’s goal as a future physician is to provide an integrated approach to healthcare to help her patients achieve optimal health of the mind, body, and spirit.     Dr. Harris is Chair of Dermatology, Director of the Autoimmune Therapeutics Institute, and Director of the Vitiligo Clinic and Research Center at UMass Chan Medical School. He is a dermatologist and physician-scientist, caring for patients in a vitiligo specialty clinic and running a research laboratory focused on understanding disease pathogenesis and developing new treatments. His group integrates basic, translational, and clinical research strategies to accomplish this. As a result, clinical trials in vitiligo have shown success. Dr. Harris founded Villaris Therapeutics (acquired by Incyte in 2022) and 4 other companies to develop treatments for inflammatory skin diseases.

    Dr. Lal, originally from Queens, New York, completed a seven-year accelerated medical program at the New York Institute of Technology, graduating summa cum laude with a Master of Science in neuroscience. He was elected to the Sigma Sigma Phi and Psi Sigma Alpha honor societies.He completed his internship at the University of Connecticut, where he was named Intern of the Year, followed by a dermatology residency and chief residency at the University of Massachusetts. He then pursued a pediatric dermatology fellowship there, developing expertise in vascular anomalies, pediatric laser, and dermatologic surgery.Dr. Lal is the only board-certified pediatric and fellowship-trained cosmetic dermatologist in the U.S. His specialties include pediatric and adult dermatology, laser and cosmetic surgery, body sculpting, and pigmentary disorders such as vitiligo, melasma, and psoriasis.Frequently featured in media outlets such as ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, and NBC News, he also serves on the DEI work group for the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, with a focus on inclusive, patient-centered care.

    Dr. Swanson is a board-certified dermatologist and pediatric dermatologist. She obtained her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She performed her dermatology residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After that, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona. She was in private practice in Colorado from2011 thru 2020. She moved to Boise, Idaho in summer 2020 to become the first and only pediatric dermatologist in the state of Idaho.She is active in local and national medical societies and organizations. She loves lecturing at conferences discussing pediatric dermatology with audiences across the country. Since moving to Idaho, she works in private practice at Ada West Dermatology and she is on staff at St Luke’s Children’s Hospital where she sees hospital consults and performs procedures.

    Ronda Farah, MD FAAD is nationally and internationally recognized for her expertise in dermatology. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota. Previously, she served as Director of Medical Dermatology at the University of Minnesota Health Maple Grove Clinics and as the Cosmetic Lead for University of Minnesota Health.Dr. Farah’s clinical interests include energy-based medicine, hair loss, and the role of social media in dermatology. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed her dermatology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.She has authored numerous publications, with a focus on alopecia and dermatologic technology. Dr. Farah is a former board member of the Women’s Dermatologic Society and the Association of Academic Cosmetic Dermatology. She currently serves as a Social Media Ambassador for the American Academy of Dermatology.

    Dr. Audrey Rutherford is a board-certified dermatologist who is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, and management of a wide array of dermatologic conditions. She specializes in skin cancer, rosacea, acne, psoriasis, women’s dermatologic conditions, warts, melasma, rashes, eczema, lichen sclerosus, and complex conditions such as lichen planus, cutaneous rheumatologic conditions, and blistering disorders. She is an expertly-trained dermatologic surgeon with experience in skin cancer excisions, as well as the removal of benign growths such as cysts and lipomas. She is a talented cosmetic practitioner providing services such as hyaluronic acid fillers and neurotoxins.
