    Dr. Geraldine Ranasinghe is a soon to be PGY 3 dermatology resident at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She has published and presented several studies on hair disorders and has a particular interest in hair research. Outside of residency, she enjoys spending time with her husband outdoors, yoga, cooking and traveling.

    Dr. Paradi Mirmirani completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Dermatology and a clinical hair research fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. She is practicing at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo, California where she serves as the assistant chief of dermatology, the regional director for hair disorders and the local research chair. In addition to having faculty appointments at the University of California, San Francisco and Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Mirmirani has over 50 peer review publications and regularly lectures at national and international conferences on various hair disorders topics. Dr. Mirmirani co-authored “Cicatricial Alopecia: An Approach to Diagnosis and Management”, the first book dedicated to the topic. Her awards include the UCSF Outstanding Clinical Teacher, and the San Francisco Dermatologic Society’s Key Dermatology Leader for hair. Along with her clinical and research activities, she serves on the scientific advisory board of the Cicatricial Alopecia Research Foundation, is on the clinical research advisory board for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, and is a past member of the Board of Directors for the North American Hair Research Society

    Stephanie Lee, MD is a board-certified pediatrician with interest in pediatric dermatology. She is currently a pediatric dermatology research fellow at Rady Children's Hospital / University of California, San Diego. She earned her bachelor of science in human biology and medical degree at Brown University through the eight-year Program in Liberal Medical Education. She was a pediatric resident and chief resident at the University of California, Irvine / Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

    Jason Ezra Hawkes
    Dr. Hawkes is a board-certified dermatologist and Investigator at the Oregon Medical Research Center in Portland, Oregon. He completed his medical school and residency at the University of Utah. During medical school, he completed a fellowship in translational immunology in the NIH-HHMI Research Scholars Program. He also received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Investigation from Rockefeller University, where he was Chief Clinical Scholar and Principal and sub-Investigator on multiple human research protocols in the Laboratory for Investigative Dermatology. He has held academic appointments in the Departments of Dermatology at the University of Utah, University of California-Davis, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.Dr. Hawkes is a current Councilor in the International Psoriasis Council and serves on the NPF Medical Board and Scientific Advisory Committee. He also serves as the official delegate of the AAD as a member of the international guidelines and workgroup committee for urticaria. His research has been funded by the NIH, NSF, NPF, and Dermatology Foundation, and he is the recipient of several teaching awards including NPF Outstanding Educator in Psoriatic Disease and Exceptional Teacher of the Year in the Department of Dermatology at Mount Sinai. His primary clinical and research interests include novel immune therapies for inflammatory conditions like psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, HS, alopecia areata, vitiligo, and urticaria.

    Dr. Jocelyn Strand graduated from Bastyr University in 2005 with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. Following her graduation, she established her practice in the Seattle area, working at Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, as well as in a gastrointestinal specialty clinic. She returned to Minnesota in 2008 with the vision of increasing the availability, affordability, and awareness of naturopathic medicine. With that vision in mind, she opened her private practice at Lake Superior Natural Medicine, where she specialized in GI system disorders, Lyme disease, and auto-immune conditions as a Primary Care Provider through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice. In 2019, Dr. Strand became the Director of Clinical Education for Bio-Botanical Research, Inc., She enjoys sharing useful clinical information based on research and her own personal experience in the talks she gives at events around the world.

    Kaitlyn Yin is a fourth year medical student at New York University Grossman School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, she attended Princeton University where she majored in economics with a minor in Global Health and Health Policy. She plans on specializing in dermatology, and has a particular interest in hair due to the unique personal significance it holds for each individual. She currently works with Dr. Jerry Shapiro and Dr. Kristen Lo Sicco on alopecia research, which she hopes to continue in the future.

    Dr. Radha Mikkilineni has 20 years of experience in dermatology and practices the full range of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. With a background in biophysics and physiology, epidemiology and dermatopathology, Dr. Mikkilineni has a keen understanding of the science of the skin. Her key interests are in the fields of telemedicine and integrative dermatology, particularly regarding the management of chronic skin disease, wellness and anti-aging. She is a recent graduate of the Learn Skin Integrative Dermatology Certificate Program and CEO and Founder of a mobile digital software application, Skinsage, Inc. She is committed to combining the best of traditional and alternative dermatology and adapting the digital space to better serve doctors and patients.Dr. Mikkilineni received her medical degree from Georgetown Medical School. She completed her internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital, her dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve-University Hospitals of Cleveland and her dermatopathology fellowship at New York University. She holds two master’s degrees in Physiology and Biophysics as well as in Biostatistics and Epidemiology (The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine). She is board certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Cornell Medical School, New York Presbyterian Hospital. Prior to moving to New York City she was the medical director of a private, group specialty dermatology practice in downtown Washington, DC and an Instructor of Dermatology and Pathology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

    Dr. Tin is a board-certified dermatologist from Manila Philippines and has been in private practice and in government service since she finished her Dermatology residency training in Makati Medical Center, one of the few training institutions accredited by the Philippine Dermatological Society. She also serves as the Medical Director of Nisce Skin Medispa. As a doctor who majored in Psychology in her undergrad, she has always been inclined to help in the transformative journey of patients, giving lectures on health in different fora. In the past few years she became a practitioner of Functional Medicine, and in 2021 she became the first dermatologist from the Philippines to complete the Integrative Dermatology Certificate Program of LearnSkin.

    Elizabeth is a third-year naturopathic medical student at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. She holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Nutritional and Nutraceutical Science from the University of Guelph, where she studied the role of diet, nutrition, and natural health products in human health. She has experience working in research and development in the cosmeceutical industry, and has curated educational content that translates the science of skin care to the public. She has a passion for integrative dermatology, nutrition science, and merging the body of research behind naturopathic and conventional medicine.

    Marian Conaty is in her final year of the Master's of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine program at Pacific College of Health and Science in New York City. Originally from Miami, she studied biomedical ethics, poetry, and public health before dropping it all for a decade-long career in retail merchandising. While working in “fashion” she learned much more about business, creativity, perseverance, cashmere, spotting counterfeit bills, and managing people, time and resources than she ever expected. In 2018, Marian decided to study traditional Chinese medicine after experiencing relief from her chronic shoulder pain (brought on from folding too many sweaters) from a tui na treatment. Her interest in integrative dermatology is rooted in the idea that disease at the skin level reflects deeper, more systematic imbalances. Marian spends her free time listening to podcasts, making lists, and learning to identify the Chinese medicinal plants growing in her neighborhood. She continues to work to improve her intercommunication and pulse reading skills.

    Christa Biegler, RD, LN is the host and owner of Less Stressed Life Nutrition & Podcast. She sees telemedicine private practice clients in the areas of digestive, skin, fatigue, sleep and hormone issues. She is the author of The Eczema Relief Diet & Cookbook: Short-Term Meal Plans to Identify Triggers and Soothe Flare-Ups. Her podcast, The Less Stressed Life, provides lifestyle and nutrition content for reducing the inflammationShe graduated from South Dakota State University in journalism and dietetics and completed her dietetic internship at the St. Louis Department of Veterans Affairs with an emphasis in health disparities. She is the president of the South Dakota Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and Marketing Chair for Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine. She was awarded Outstanding Dietitian of the Year in 2020 and Young Dietitian of the Year for South Dakota in 2017.

    Samantha Magana is currently a first-year physician assistant (PA) student at the University of California, Davis; Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. She completed her undergraduate education at UC Davis, with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology. Before starting the PA program, she worked as a medical assistant for North Pacific Dermatology in rural Humboldt County, CA. Upon successful completion of the PA program, she intends to enter dermatology and continue to help those who are underserved and undertreated.

    Proudly celebrating nearly 20 years in the profession, Dr Rob Ayoup, Naturopathic Doctor, has worked to promote the rich benefits of Naturopathic Medicine to the public and colleagues alike. After achieving his BSc in Psychology from McGill University, this proud Montreal native travelled down the highway to attend The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Graduating in 2002, and settling in the Toronto area, he has enjoyed a career filled with varied and unique ways of offering Naturopathic Medicine to the public. In addition to clinical practice, these include: working as a CCNM recruitment representative and teaching assistant; organizing and teaching various public & professionally-focused Continuing Education courses; being a Naturopathic consultant for one of Canada’s largest nation-wide Employee Assistance Programs; and proudly penning a portfolio of published articles covering both general and retail-focused topics in natural medicine and Naturopathic Aesthetics alike. The bridge into Naturopathic Aesthetics began soon after graduation. Upon completing additional training & certification in Cosmetic Acupuncture, Dr Ayoup soon found a strong interest in his patient population for less invasive and natural approaches to skin health and beauty. This was accelerated by the recognition that this realm of natural-based cosmetics and cosmetic techniques was underexplored in the Naturopathic field. As Dr Ayoup studied and integrated these therapies into his practice, he quickly realized how much Naturopathic therapies, and especially our approach, can offer in the arena of Aesthetics Medicine. Working within various medical spa and fitness facilities has provided a wonderful opportunity to share Naturopathic Aesthetics with a wide population. He is widely published and has a background in immunology as well as interests in mechanisms of therapy, skin cancer, and medical dermatology.

    Dr. Nikka Kanani is a licensed Naturopathic doctor practicing in Orange County, California. She specializes in naturopathic dermatology, women’s health, and digestive health. She struggled with skin conditions including acne and eczema, and found relief and healing through integrative medicine. This developed into a passion for natural skin care and integrative dermatology. She believes that clear, healthy skin is achieved by treating the person from the inside out.  Dr. Kanani earned her Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Science from the University of California, Irvine. She then completed her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in San Diego, California. Dr. Kanani received advanced clinical training in women’s health, dermatology, environmental medicine, and autoimmune disease. She believes in an individualized approach to medicine and treating the patient as a whole person. Dr. Kanani is passionate about educating patients and working with them to create a treatment plan that is both feasible and effective. Her goal is to empower people to take control of their own health.

    Dr. Emaline Brown earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 2017. She went on to complete one year of residency at Bastyr University Clinic in San Diego, California before joining Healthtopia Clinics, an urgent and primary care practice in Encinitas, California.Dr. Brown has a passion for tailoring gentle, result-based treatment plans using traditional and evidence-based therapeutics, such as nutrition, botanical medicine, and mind-body medicine. She strongly believes in an integrative, multidisciplinary care team approach that considers the biopsychosocial model in an effort to treat the whole patient. Her goal is to guide and empower all patients to find their optimal wellness.

    Helen Magnani is an Ayurvedic Medicine Practitioner & Holistic Nutrition Specialist. She began her Wellness Practice with the idea of being a resource of information for those looking to return to a better sense of themselves and has built a reputation for making wellness simple, practical & convenient. She focuses on Ayurveda's bio-individuality as well as the functional medicine model of nutrition to understand her client's unique needs, incorporating natural remedies, whole foods, herbs and botanicals for a one of a kind old world, new world way of practicing natural medicine. Helen studied at Kerala Ayurveda Academy in Los Angeles and in Southern India, and at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition after studying Cellular Biology. Drawing on this combined knowledge enables her to create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits unique body type, lifestyle, preferences and the goals of her clients. Helen is Board Certified with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and has extended study with the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals of North America alongside countless functional medicine seminars and a multitude of clinical rotations and internships.     Jennifer Chwalek, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist and a fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon specializing in mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of skin cancer and cosmetic dermatology.Dr. Chwalek graduated with honors from Vassar College majoring in Art History. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine where she was elected to the national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Following medical school she spent a year at the University of California, San Francisco studying hair biology and researching treatments for the most common causes of hair loss. She returned to the University of Maryland to complete her residency in dermatology. During residency she discovered her passion for cutaneous surgery, reconstruction and laser procedures, which led her to pursue a specialized fellowship in skin surgery and cosmetic procedures with one of the leading laser and cosmetic practices in the country. Her interests include injectables (botox, fillers, PRP), surgical and non-surgical treatments for scars, laser treatments for vascular lesions and birthmarks, laser tattoo removal, as well as minimally invasive procedures for facial and body rejuvenation.She is a Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at Mount Sinai Medical Center where she teaches the latest cosmetic and surgical techniques to dermatology residents and fellows. Dr. Chwalek lectures regularly at national conferences and serves as an editor for major dermatologic surgery and cosmetic journals. She has published numerous articles and book chapters and has been asked to lecture on laser resurfacing, body contouring and complications occurring from these procedures. In addition, Dr. Chwalek is a regular contributor to national skin care and beauty media, including Glamour, Allure, Brides, Soul Cycle, Shape, In Style and New Beauty.Dr. Chwalek is particularly interested in how lifestyle factors interact with genes and affect skin aging. He holds degrees from the University of San Diego, Stanford University, and Louisiana State University, is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Mongolia, and has been the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship to the Kyrgyz Republic for his research on traditional health practices. He is also a writer, translator, and independent scholar living in San Diego whose work has been published by University Press of Mississippi, The Saturday Evening Post, Guernica, Asymptote, and The Comics Journal.
