What You'll Learn

The annual Integrative Dermatology Symposium is designed to appeal to practitioners across disciplines. It will address emerging trends, and practical approaches to dermatology as practitioners assess and manage skin conditions and care. It is estimated that nearly one-third of the population is afflicted with a skin disorder. There is a great need for best practice sharing and cross-collaboration to support practitioners in the field and improve patient care outcomes.

GOAL & PURPOSE

After completing this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate the evidence for the role of inflammation and inflammatory skin disease on aging
  • Identify the evidence for emerging pharmaceutical and device-based therapies for common pediatric and adult skin conditions
  • Incorporate the use of biologics and JAK inhibitors into an integrative treatment plan for inflammatory skin conditions
  • Examine the clinical evidence for influence of epigenetic markers on aging and skin inflammation
  • Diagram the role of the gut and skin microbiome in inflammation and the skin barrier
  • Discuss the clinical evidence for the use of non-steroidal topicals to control skin inflammation
  • Compare treatment approaches based on skin type and color
